4. Leaving a Legacy
All bequests to Reed's School are exempt from Inheritance Tax. If you are considering updating your Will to include Reed’s School please view our Legacy Fund page and contact Richard Garrett Tel: 01932 869025. We are most grateful to those who make provision in their Will in favour of Reed's.
5. Corporate Matching Gifts
Corporate matching gifts are often available from companies that match their employees' charitable contributions to organisations such a Reed's School. Please refer to your employers’ Human Resources department.
6. Donating Shares
Gifts of shares can be highly tax efficient. Individuals who give shares to a charity are entitled to claim back full tax relief against the value of those shares. So, a gift of £1000 will only cost a higher rate tax payer £600 or £500 (depending on your taxable income), and there can also be capital gains tax advantages. Reed's School Foundation has also been the beneficiary of regular support for the Foundation through Sharegift. If you own small parcels of shares that would cost more to sell than they are worth, please consider donating them to Sharegift, the charity share donation scheme, mentioning that you are a supporter of Reed’s School Foundation. For further details, please contact Sharegift directly on 0207 930 3737.
A gift-in-kind is a non-cash item such as equipment for the new D&T Department or items suitable for office use. Donors who wish to make a gift-in-kind to Reed's School should first contact the Development Director, Richard Garrett (tel: 01932 869025).
